The Lover's Eye Noir- Custom Bookplate

Bookplates by The Punctilious Mr. P's Place Card Co.

$69.00

The Lover’s Eye Noir revives one of history’s most intimate keepsakes — a gaze that reveals everything and nothing that can be identified — across twelve bespoke bookplates printed on cold-press cotton rag paper with archival Japanese inks and your name or initials in your chosen font. For libraries with a secret or two. Browse all bookplate designs.

In the eighteenth century, lovers exchanged miniature portraits of a single eye — intimate enough to reveal an entire feeling, discreet enough to keep the source unknown. The Noir coloring holds that mystery with particular authority: dark, luminous, a gaze that still holds the room. Printed bespoke on cold-press cotton rag paper with archival Japanese inks, twelve plates arrive in your set with your name or initials in your chosen calligraphy font, each one a mark worth finding inside a book worth keeping.

Pack Contents

12 bookplates to a set, available in two styles: Ex Libris or From the Library of. $69.

How It Works

Your name, initials, or family name prints on all 12 bookplates in the set — choose from five calligraphy fonts, or select ‘No Name’ to receive them blank. The same text appears on every plate.

  • We recommend that you purchase our double-sided, acid-free, REMOVABLE adhesive roller and "tip" the bookplate into the book.
  • Tipping means that you only run a single line of adhesive across the top of the bookplate (not all 4 sides) and place the bookplate into place on the inside hard cover and gently rub your fingertip along the top to adhere the bookplate. This will keep the bookplate in place forever, but will also be removable, if needed.
  • Remove the protective cap. Press roller down on a flat surface and drag backwards in a straight line only along the top of the bookplate. Replace protective cap when finished.
