The Ranunculus is among the most demanding flowers to render in ceramic — its hundreds of tissue-thin petals wound close, each layer barely visible beneath the next. In Dark Olive, the glaze settles those layers into a deep, earthy green, the color of olive leaves in late-summer shade. Here in Old Chatham, the ranunculus appears in the cutting garden in early spring — the quiet herald before the season’s full abundance arrives.
