The Zinnia in Burgundy is the most saturated bloom in the collection — its many petals open flat in a radial pattern, the glaze a deep crimson-burgundy that shifts toward near-black at the center. In the garden, zinnias are the flowers that keep cutting all summer without complaint, and this one, in its darkest dress, holds some of that late-summer abundance. Here in Old Chatham, we cut them for the table right up until the first frost, and this ceramic bloom preserves that moment in fired clay and mineral glaze.
